We have a large car park in front of the clinic with a disabled parking space
Absolutely. Many people choose chiropractic care during pregnancy to support their overall health and well-being—not just for relief from aches and pains (which 50-75% of pregnant clients experience, according to research). In fact, 84% report feeling relief with regular adjustments. A retrospective review even showed that chiropractic care during pregnancy can lead to shorter labour times: first-time mothers experienced an average of 25% shorter labours, while those with multiple pregnancies saw a 31% reduction.
Chiropractic care can also support alignment, which may assist with baby’s engagement towards the end of pregnancy. Adjustments for pregnant clients are always tailored to each individual, ensuring safety for both mum and baby. Our beds are specially designed to comfortably accommodate a growing bump, making the experience as comfortable as possible.
Chiropractic care is perfectly safe for babies and children, and we see many young ones in our clinic. Each adjustment is carefully tailored to the individual, whether they’re under a year old or over 80!
Absolutely! We are proud to have created such a family-friendly environment. We welcome children and have a selection of toys, games and books for them to enjoy.
Our services are covered by all major private health schemes, including BUPA. However, this may change in the future, so please feel free to ask about our current registrations. We also recommend checking with your insurance provider to see if a doctor’s referral is required, as requirements can vary between schemes.
No, we welcome practice members of all ages, from newborns to great grandparents (our oldest patient is 93!). Our care is always tailored to you as an individual, with adjustments made based on your body’s needs each time you visit. We do ask that children under 16 are accompanied by an adult during their visits.
At the clinic, we carefully select a range of products that complement your care. We stock health-related items such as Biofreeze, hot and cold therapy packs, vitamins, and supplements—each chosen by our team to ensure our clinic community receives the best possible benefits.
Although both are safe and effective forms of manual therapy, they are based on different philosophies and techniques, so they can’t be directly compared. Chiropractic is focused on optimising your body’s functional neurology, as your nervous system controls every aspect of your body. This is achieved by supporting natural movement in the spine and stimulating specific areas of the nervous system. Chiropractic does not treat specific ailments but supports your body’s natural ability to function as a whole.
Contrary to common belief, chiropractic and physiotherapy complement each other. This is why major sports teams often have both chiropractors and physiotherapists as part of their care team.
The clinic has step free access, disabled toilets and a lift should your appointment be upstairs.
There’s no specific clothing required for your adjustment—just wear what feels comfortable for you. Please keep in mind that you may be asked to move around on the bench.
For your soft tissue session, you’ll need to remove some clothing, but rest assured, your modesty will always be respected. Our clinicians will step out to give you privacy while you get ready.
Adjustments are safe and typically do not cause pain. If you have areas that are tender to touch or are experiencing an acute phase of inflammation, the adjustments may feel uncomfortable initially, but they will become easier as normal function returns to your body. We always tailor our adjustments to suit your individual needs. If you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to speak with us.
Chiropractic care focuses on supporting your body’s natural ability to function at its best, rather than treating specific conditions. By optimising the alignment and movement of your spine, chiropractic can help improve overall health, reduce pain, and enhance mobility. Many people find chiropractic beneficial for conditions like back pain, headaches, and joint discomfort, but it can also support overall wellness and improve your body’s ability to heal itself. If you have a specific condition or concern, your chiropractor will talk through this in detail during your consultation.
Chiropractic care is a natural hands on way to help your body move and feel better by focusing on how your spine, joints, muscles and nervous system work together. When things get stiff, tight or out of balance it can lead to pain, tension and reduced movement. Chiropractors use gentle adjustments to restore function, ease discomfort and support your body’s ability to heal. It is commonly used for back pain, neck pain, headaches migraines and muscle strain Many people also notice better posture, less tension and an overall boost in how they feel day to day. And yes, it is safe when done by a trained and registered professional.

Yes it is. When it is done by someone properly trained and registered chiropractic care is a safe and natural option for helping your body feel and move better. Like anything in healthcare there can be some small side effects like feeling a bit sore or tired after treatment but these usually pass quickly.
The big scary risks you sometimes hear about are extremely rare. Studies show serious problems happen in only a tiny number of cases, much less often than with things like long term pain medication. A lot of people actually choose chiropractic because it is drug free, non invasive and works alongside your body not against it.
Thousands of people in the UK see chiropractors every day and the safety record is strong. We always make sure what we are doing is right for you and talk through everything before we start. The British Chiropractic Association put together this handy little table if you would like to read more.
Your first visit includes a thorough consultation, a detailed assessment (including a separate scan, posture analysis and vital stats) and a chance to discuss your health goals. We’ll explain everything clearly and answer any questions you have. We have a dedicated page that goes into this in much more detail. Click here to find out more.
Your first visit usually takes around 60 minutes and includes your full consultation and scan. After that we book you in for a 30 minute report of findings session where we go through everything in detail and talk about your care plan. Follow up appointments are booked in 10 minute slots but we have designed our clinic and diary for flexibility so we can spend more time with you if it is needed because real life does not always run on a strict schedule.
The initial consultation for soft tissue therapy (massage) usually takes around 60 minutes with your report of findings session lasting about 40. Ongoing appointments are either 30 or 60 minutes depending on what your care plan recommends and what your body needs.
For your initial consultation and scan we ask that you wear comfortable clothes you can move in as we will use movement to form part of our assessments. We will need to see your posture clearly so tighter fitting clothing is helpful and you will be asked to remove your top for part of the scan. We provide gowns for modesty and ask that women wear a standard clip back bra rather than a sports bra so we can access the spine without needing to remove it.
Comfortable clothing is also recommended for all follow up sessions since you may need to move around on the bench.
For soft tissue therapy we have a strict clothing policy to make sure your therapist can work safely and effectively. You will need to remove clothing over the area being treated. Women must wear a clip back bra as sports bras cannot be used for assessment or treatment. If we are working on your legs please wear or bring loose fitting shorts so we can reach the area properly. If clothing requirements are not met we may not be able to carry out the session.
Chiropractic care should not hurt but if you are already in pain some movements might feel a little uncomfortable at first. The techniques are gentle, controlled and always matched to what your body needs. You might hear a click or pop during treatment which is just a bit of gas escaping from the joint (a bit like cracking your knuckles) and it's honestly nothing to worry about. Some people feel a bit sore afterwards (kind of like you did a workout you weren't entirely prepared for) but that usually fades within a day or two. Most people walk out feeling looser, lighter and way more comfortable and if anything feels off we adjust on the spot and make sure you are feeling good before you leave.
The number of sessions you will need really depends on you, what you are coming in with, how long it has been going on and other lifestyle factors such as stress, daily movement and your overall health. After your first consultation we will put together a care plan that we think will help you reach your goals in the most efficient way. We check in regularly during your sessions and have specific progress reviews to see how things are going and make changes if needed. Your body is always changing so your care plan can too.
