One of the biggest misconceptions about chiropractic is that it’s solely about the neck, back, or spine. In reality, chiropractic is focused on the connection between the brain and the body’s neurology.
Your brain is the control centre for every process in your body—from complex movements, balance, and organ function to cellular metabolism and activation. Chiropractic care helps optimise this communication by promoting proper signalling between the brain and body, enabling you to function, heal, and thrive to your fullest potential—regardless of your current health status, prior injuries, or challenges.
While chiropractic is often associated with addressing back pain, neck pain, and headaches (with numerous studies supporting its effectiveness), chiropractic does not treat specific conditions. Instead, it supports the body’s natural ability to heal and function. This is why chiropractic care can benefit everyone—from newborns to the elderly, professional athletes to those living with neurological challenges.
It affects 1 in 6 people in the UK and an estimated 4 in 5 people will get back pain at some point in their lifetime.
Our modern lifestyles don't help. More phone use, more desk work, more driving, less movement — and more stress. It builds up quietly in the background, which is why it's usually something completely innocuous that finally causes it to 'go'. Most people who come to see us say there was no obvious trigger. That's because the nervous system has been quietly compensating for months, sometimes years, before something gives.

Take someone who drives for a living. They spend hours sitting, which tightens the muscles at the front of the pelvis — because the hip stays flexed for so long. When that happens, the glutes (the main muscles in your bottom) switch off and weaken.
Now they get out of the car and lift a heavy case from the boot. Without functioning glutes, the back muscles try to do the job alone and that's when something pulls. But it's often only the start.
The injury causes the body to guard that area and limit movement. Over time, posture shifts to compensate with everyday activities. Those shifts create new problems. And what started as a tight hip eventually becomes chronic back pain.
Back pain is usually the last thing to appear, not the first. If you only treat the back pain, you keep missing what caused it which is why it keeps coming back.

Most people who come to see us have tried everything else first. We're often told we were the 'last resort.'
Other approaches treat the symptom, not the cause — and that never works long term. Painkillers are a good example. Taking them is like putting a sticker over the warning light on your dashboard. It doesn't help to fix the problem, it just masks the problem. The light goes off, but nothing under the bonnet has changed. Your body is still trying to tell you something is wrong.
If you only mask the warning sign, something else will eventually go wrong. This is why it's so important to establish the rood cause of your back pain to get an effective solution

All of our practitioners are highly trained to at least degree standard with ongoing training every year. This makes a difference because not everyone advertising back pain treatment is.
We use a detailed examination process, including state of the art technology that picks up things the eye can miss. And because we're a multi-discipline centre, we can match you to the right treatment rather than fitting you into one approach.
Between chiropractic and soft tissue therapy, we cover a wide range of techniques: adjustments, massage, dry needling, taping, blading, cupping, and rehabilitation-focused work. Chiropractic adjustments create movement in the spine, reduce pain and help undo the adaptations your body has built up over time. Soft tissue therapy focuses the fascia, tissue and muscles in the body and works well on its own or alongside adjustments — whichever fits your situation.

Everyone who comes to us for the first time goes through a three-part process.
Part one is a consultation with your practitioner. Our wonderful front desk team will point you to the right person for your situation. They know the team well and they'll steer you right. Your practitioner will take a full history of your complaint and your medical background before carrying out a series of muscle and orthopaedic tests . Its not as scary as it sounds and they'll keep it as comfortable as possible throughout.
Part two is a functional assessment using our scanning technology. We measure muscle activation in the spinal muscles, analyse your posture, and collect your range of movement to a high degree of accuracy. This gives us an objective picture of how your nervous system is functioning, not just how your back feels on that particular day. We also take some baseline stats like blood pressure. It builds a picture that the naked eye simply can't get on its own.
These two parts usually happen on the same day where both yours and our diaries allow.
Part three is your report of findings which is normally carried out on a separate day. Your practitioner walks you through everything they've found, explains the functional assessments in detail, and sets out a clear plan for how we address it to help you achieve your health goals.

Anyone. We see people of all ages and from all walks of like. Back pain doesn't discriminate and neither does our approach, because we treat you as an individual with a completely unique set of circumstances and needs, not a diagnosis. The person who's been in pain for years and has tried everything. The one who's been told to just live with it. The person who wants to avoid surgery and is looking for a different way through.
And once people feel better, many choose to stay. Not because we push them to, but because they understand that the pain going away is the start, not the finish. Let’s not just set the bar at getting you out of pain, let’s set the bar on making and keeping you feeling great.
